I have a B.A. from the University of California, Irvine where I first studied acting under the tutelage of Robert Cohen. His book “Acting Power” was a major influence. From there I studied with many of Hollywood’s most prestigious and successful teachers from which I’ve gleaned, honed, and put into practice a comprehensive methodology for Actors, Toastmasters, Comedians, Teachers, Athletes, and all other speakers at large.
The following is a condensed list reflecting some of the outstanding teachers who have influenced my development as an instructor/coach; highlighting some of my favorite catch phrases or technique titles.
Hollywood Training – Emphasis
David Lehman: Cold reading format – ‘trusting your instincts/moment to moment’ 1/2 of acting is being free to experience the moment, listening & reacting.
Rick Walters: Scene Study – ‘Subtext, subtext, subtext! Assigning Values-adding content to your words!’
Brian Reese: Various Cold Reading situations.
Darryl Hickman: Scene study – ‘Truth through trusting your instrument
Jeff Corey: Scene study
William Needles: Stratford Festival, Ada Brown Mather: Classical
Geo Hartly: Championed Michael Shurtliff’s audition method.
Robert Cohen: Stanislavsky method

I currently teach;

– Scene Study, Audition, On Camera Acting Classes at New Image College of Fine Arts in Vancouver, BC, CA
Believing that actors must continually expand their horizons to strengthen their performance muscle & opportunities, I joined a Toastmasters Club in Vancouver. Which in turn, inspired me to try stand up comedy, including Sirius Radio’s 2012 “Canada’s Next Top Comic” contest, where I was a semi-finalist.
